Year One Liturgry - posted 16th May
Year one shared their knowledge of Pentecost and Ascension day during their liturgy. Children acted out the part when the disciples received the special gifts from God. They also prayed for their parents and teachers and spread the message of loving one another.
Holy Week Exhibition based On St John Passion - posted 29th Mar
Yesterday we concluded our three days of exhibition for our Holy Week. The children across the whole school created pieces of art in different mediums based on Bach’s ‘St John’s Passion’. Each year group focused on a different part of the story. Class teachers shared with the children the relevant musical excerpt/s, an explanation of how the music depicts the events and the children shared their ideas from their music lesson and a translation of the text to refer to.
Stations of the Cross Liturgy - posted 28th Mar
This morning we gathered for the Stations of the Cross. The Prayer Leaders led us through the Stations and representatives from each Year group held up a station that they had interpreted and created. We were so blessed to be able to share the Stations of the Cross during Holy Week this year.
Inspirational Women Trip to Wimbledon Tennis - posted 27th Mar
On Tuesday a group of 34 girls in Key Stage 2 had the opportunity to attend a workshop at the All England Lawn and Tennis club focusing on Inspirational Women in Tennis. They learnt about how 6 inspirational women have helped clear the way for other women in , not just in tennis but with gender pay gap, and opportunities in professional sport participation. It was a truly inspiring day!
Mitcham Town Community Trust Star Awards 2018 - posted 27th Mar
Congratulations to John-Ashley, Peter, Isabella, Victoria and Mrs Cubitt who are this year’s recipients of the Mitcham Star awards.
All the schools in the Mitcham cluster of schools nominated four pupils from Year Six and a member of staff for their hard work, kindness and giving that little extra.
The Award ceremony took place in Cranmer School on 27th March.
