Year 5 and Year 6 Jazz Experience - posted 6th Jul
On Friday 6th July Years 5 and 6 visited Mitcham Parish Church for the second in a series of Jazz Concerts presented by professional jazz musicians from The Lincoln Jazz Centre in New York who are working in partnership with Merton Music Foundation. Today’s concert theme was ‘Jazz and the Great Migration’ - children learnt about famous jazz musicians including Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. Children had a toe-tapping morning enjoying live jazz and learning about how this musical genre linked to social issues of its time. We are looking forward to our final concert next week.
